We Still Do Chores in the Rain

Rain doesn’t stop farm chores.  My Dad has done chores in all sorts of weather.  Rain storms, ice storms, tornadoes and super hot days.  No matter what the weather, the first thing I learned as a farmkid is that the animals need fed, everyday.

Today’s chores were done in the rain.  I had to feed the rabbits and clean cages in the rain.  Thankfully, the rabbits are in a nice barn, so we didn’t get wet while feeding them.  But when my sister and I had to dump the wheelbarrow with their poop, that is when I got wet

We have 13 Holland Lops , 1 dutch, and 4 Mini Rexes. We recently had 2 Holland Lop babies and the gray  and white one name is Bugs Bunny.  We do not have a name for the brown one.  Aren’t they cute?!

This is one my new Holland Lops, Sarge.  I love him!  He is so sweet and he lets me hold him all of the time.  He is our new herd buck and recently bred another newer Holland Lop we bought.  I’ll know in a few weeks if he is a dad!

This bunny is Chestnut  The little boy is my brother.  He loves the rabbits too.  Chestnut is 4 months old.  One of the judges called her a helicopter because her ears haven’t completely fallen yet.  She held them out like a helicopter!

And this is Fanta.  She’s a nice little rabbit. She is my brothers rabbit and she is very patient with how much he likes to hold her!

My sister and I were pretty soaked when Mom took these pictures.  My sister also has a favorite rabbit.  Cocoa is one of her favorites.
